Hi all, I posted this on the Hyundai owners club and they suggested in post it here. I know that there have been a lot issues rrgarding fuel but please see below and any help really appreciated

 hopefully thr forum can help. I have a 09 plate 1.6 diesel I30. Last week I noticed it wouldn't go above 3000rpm and lacked power. I don't drive it much so could have been like this for a while and the wife hadn't noticed. Called recovery who said its the boost control valve, pointed it out and said its plug and play so get one and it'll sort the problem. Took a punt on one from a breakers as over £200 from Hyundai and around half that from Euros Car Parts.

Put it on and nothing has changed. After the tech had cleared the fault codes when they came out to me the
r turbo kicked in when I first accelerated past 3000rpm but then went back to stopping at 3000rpm. Randomly used it one night last week and once it went through 3000rpm but then wouldn't again.

There are two small air lines coming off the valve. One goes to what I'm guessing is the throttle body and pulls down at the bottom when starting car. The other goes into another pipe which goes into the top of the turbo.

Obviously the valve I've ordered could be rubbish but the fact the car has worked once randomly suggests there may be something else.

So tonight I was going to change the fuel filter and thought I'd just check the boost control. Looked at the part underneath which is linked to it and found a broken wire. Have fabricated a repair as not enough wire in the connector and will be ordering a replacement either from hyundai if they can and don't mug me off or rs components

3000rpm will be limp mode. However, you need to quote the fault codes before we can be sure where to look.

Assume recovery used it to tell you about the valve. They are NOT particularly troublesome so you probably own two good ones. If it was intermittent and you found a broken wire, could easily be the cause.

You may also find a plug with wires attached at the wrecker. That part of the loom is usually cut when they pull the motor.
