Hello users :)
I'm female, sassy, love my car ( i30 elite) but just spewed out $2800.00 nz $$$ to replace my electric steering unit, brand new.  The problem came on out of the blue and I didn't know what the noise was until nearly too late !!! No...I didn't lose the steering but was advised to not drive it when taken to dealership as dangerous !
What really pissed me off was Hyundai Greenlane couldn't help me out for 4 days !!! was really rude and the guy at the front fancy desk was soo far up himself he could have choked on my steering lol.
Instead... I went to my local service garage, who gave me a dunger loan car (anything to get me from A-B)  and have given me exceptional service.....
So thank you Ellerslie Automotive , you rock xox
And Hyundai Greenlane Auckland ( where I bought my car ) you absolutely suck

Welcome,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry to hear about that expensive exercise. Pity you didn't find us sooner. $2800 NZ is pretty good for a brand new steering unit fitted but we probably would have steered (excuse the pun) you towards trying to find a used one (probably only around a $1000 fitted) The thing is I don't know how easy that would have been in New Zealand.

We have a section praising/debasing service but I wouldn't know which part to put your post in so we'll leave it here.

P.S. We like sassy females on here so hopefully you'll hang around.  :snigger:

Sorry to hear about your pathetic experience with your Hy dealer.
Plenty of assistance is available through the forum if needed.
