Gents, i misjudged and hit said pole at low speed... on inspection, no major damage, however the gap lines on from bumper seem to have widened were it meets the bonnet and closed to touch at the wheel arches towards the bottom last inch...
have i bent something, is it an easy fix?

Im gonna have to fit front sensors, trouble is you cant actually see the front from the inside....
Sigh!
Any help well recieved guys as car was flawless  before this mishap!  :crazy1:

Sometimes the clips pop out and this can be rectified by pushing the bumper back into position and giving it a nice thump with your fist.

I have 'fixed' quite a few fleet cars at work with this method.

Sadly its hissing down here so pics later, so the clips may be loose... will try find location of clips so i thump it in the right place, thanks for the thought.

Disappointing isn't it. Very minor, but tricky to fix yourself.  :undecided:

I'd get some touch up though and fix that spot where paint is missing.

Yes i did buy some touch up, need to do that still.. does anyone know how to realign that gap on wheel archs, clearly the bumoer was pushed down at impact, ive heard the bumper is eaily removable, but not sure how to go about it?

I had front parking sensors fitted to my 2012 GD i30, 2014 GD i30 Tourer , 2016 Venga and 2017 Niro by an auto electrician - but watched him do the work each time.

The front bumpers on all those cars were attached in the same manner. There were screws on the top above the radiator. two or three screws inside each wheel arch,  and clips along the periphery around the headlamps and down each side. They take a bit of "persuading" to release - the guy used plastic coated tools to do this. The top of the bumper is pulled away then lifted to free some pegs moulded on the bottom of the bumper that fit into holes in the bottom chassis member at the front.

Here is a write up I posted on this form for my Niro - there may be some nuggets of interest there. Sorry I can't help more than that. I did have photos posted on this forum for the i30's - but they no longer show because of the problems with Photobucket.

Don't forget to place a thick blanket or similar down under the front when you pull off the bumper, when it unclips it could drop on the floor and you'll have more scratches :crazy2: also take care when lowering the bumper that you dont stretch the fog light connections, there should be just enough length to rest the bumper on the floor and then you can unplug the fog's.
