Title: Yet Another i30PD starting problem
Post by: alexy on January 08, 2019, 07:50:12
Happy New Year All.

How are You?  I there any update of this issue?
I am owner of MY18 PD, 1,4 T-GDi petrol engine an I have same issue.
Our dealer don't know about this issue and also no knowledge how to simulate and fix.
Slovakia importer rejected me to dealer.  Dealer is busy...

So I'm happy to buy a new car :)

Good Luck to all.

 :welcome: @alexy

Oh wow! The Euro built 1.4T as well! Crazy.. Sorry to hear that!

Originally they thought it was injectors then a Software update, but many of the affected Aussie 1.6T owners are still waiting to get it sorted I think.   :undecided:

But funny story is, from our local forums nobody have this issue.
So I have to live with it and wait for dealership.

But I will make a post when I receive new information's.

Very frustrating for you. It might be a different cause to ours! We don't know what percentage of the 1.6T are affected. I'm thinking maybe 10% at a guess. THere are plenty like me that haven't had an issue.

I don't understand.  If this is a ECU software issue then all cars must be affected.
So I think there can be a HW issue.  SW just balances or try to avoid this problem.

Question : How are you satisfied with this PD model?

Yes, I can see your point. There are many on here that love their new PD i30s, including me.

As one of the original co-founders of this site over 10 years ago I am disappointed at the level of QC issues compared to series 1 and 2 cars though.

Hi Guys.

How are You doing?   How about the starting issue?
I was inspired by You... I buyed some STP injector cleaner ( fuel additive ) and after using it the symptoms are gone... or it' s 95% better.

Our dealer and inporter play' s dead bug...  So I try to investigate here :-)

Thanks for that. So sounds like some injectors are more easily getting blocked than others maybe, causing the issue?

So are you saying you're dealers are not willing to help sort it? Can you refer them to the treads on here?

If it was a bad batch of injectors strange that a different factory with a different engine size is having a similar issue!  :crazy1:

Hi. :-)

Our dealer and importer don' t hear my voice. I sent them videos, link for this forum but without response.
The engine construction is similiar to Your's so it's high possibility to use same injectors.
Good thing is I can pay by my self exchange of injectors for 350€ for brand new in Hyundai service.
But 7 days I have no issue with that cleaner...  after I can investigate more.

:-)
