Title: Fuel pump or efi issue
Post by: Gazz78 on March 22, 2018, 01:16:48
Hi all,
First time poster as I found this forum while searching for recent issue. We have a 2010 i30 2 litre petrol with 65k on the clock, which we got about 6 months ago, no issues until about 2 weeks ago. Alot of trouble kicking over, takes about 5 times before it starts. Took it to our mechanic who is semi retired now, he spent the day on it saying it may be fuel pump or an efi issue. He pressure tested the pump and 3-4 times it's only doing around 130 psi but then kicks in and goes straight to 320.
As he doesnt have diagnostic equipment suggested we see an efi specialist as didnt want to replace the pump if it may not be that.

I'm not sure if this is a model specific issue or if anyone knows anything about this but any advice or thought  would be greatly appreciated.
I've added a link to the pressure test.
Thank you all ! here's hoping its not a major problem

 :welcome Gazz,

Certainly sounds like the fuel pump might be the culprit,  but lets see what the experts say. @cruiserfied

Good luck with it.  :fingers:

Was the 60k service done recently with fuel filter change?
