Well I'll be blowed! I never knew the FD has rear vents!

Sounds like Trevor didn't either..

I think most fairly recent cars have some air directed under the seats into the back. I seem to recall our Getz and previous Pulsars and Tiida did (but when you change cars as often as Alan we do, they all get scrambled...)
Yeah. I did.
But I was making the point that they've been around for a long time.
However, it would seem the current crop of journos expect full on, adjustable vents, just so beerman' kids can play with them.   ::happydance:

The PD that I checked out last week had twin rear adjustable vents, just below knee level.

I didn't see anything to suggest that, but I'm  waiting on some more detailed documentation.
In the meantime, @cruiserfied  might be able to confirm or deny.

I notice in the photos from the launch, slide engine and transmission ( bit difficult to see) but it looks like only dct transmission on the 150 engine
 :fum:
I know I'm in the minority but have always enjoyed driving a stick, tempted if the turbo petrol comes with one, otherwise may have to end up with the elantra sr

I would imagine so if they're doing it as a proper sport vehicle, they might still have an auto option for the non purists  :head_knock: :D

Under the front seats - they're "Y" shaped

You may find a flap has fallen down covering them - just needs pushing back up. Had to do that on Fergie many times.

Just be aware it can be a bit hard to find the flaps in the dark..

To my knowledge the SR was definitely getting Auto (DCT or traditional I can't recall) and Manual and SR premium was at first only getting Auto but Manual has since been included.

I will double check my info tomorrow and get back to you.

It'll certainly be better for sales to include more gearbox options between models, I'd have to second think about the DCT and test drive it for myself though after warranty maintenance on a DCT would likely turn me away so the manual would generally be my first choice, I definitely wouldn't want a traditional auto in a 4cyl :fum:

There dosen't seem to be many issues with the DCT. They have had them in a number of cars now without issue.

I don't know much about the maintence side though.

The HMCA guys explained it in detail, including why it's better than the VW type.
But I agree you need to understand them before you drive one.
"Creeping" in traffic can have a similar detrimental effect to riding the clutch and result in overheating, if I understood what they were saying.

Incidentally, my son's Mazda CX3 has a similar "up above the dash" screen.
I doesn't project backwards from the dash like the i30 but it sits up in the sun the same.

Hells yeah!!!
I've driven the same package in the Veloster and Elantra SR's. They break in after 4-5000km's and as long as your reasonable with your expectations they are very fun to drive.

I have  read on Veloster and Elantra SR's forums some concerns  regarding low speed pre-ignition in these donks,
Anything to be concern about or mindful of?

Not something i have heard. Probably running E10 or something. I know they say E10 compatible but i wouldn't run anything less than 95. Heck i won't even run E10 or 91 in my Jeeps.
