I haven't heard of anyone else mentioning this company before so thought I'll put it up, reviews are great and it's free   Magic Earth: Free Maps & Navigation App

General Magic have produced navigation and driver assistance Apps for iPhones and Android for the last few years and have recently added Car Play compatibility (unsure about Android Auto), all maps are available for free in the Magic Earth navigation app and they have some neat features, they also have another paid App called Safety Lens which is an Advanced Driver Safety System which is their main product that incorporates Magic Earth navigation.

Not having a built-in sat nav means relying on third party apps. I've been trying out Waze (which is fine apart from being a bit wonky in the speed limit zone department out my way) but I'm always open to see what else is out there.
