Almost paid off house mortgage I came to an idea to change my car or, better say, get something new to drive. There were two cars in our family: my Cee'd 1.6 AT and my wife's Hyundai Solaris 1.6 MT (known as new Accent in the rest world). The latter's fate was doomed - Solaris was given to Mazda dealer in trade-in with 53000km on the clock (Cee'd has driven 106000km by now).
So yesterday, on 5 September, I became an owner of my first japanese car - Mazda 6, 2.0AT, Supreme plus

That was our first meeting )

Having come home :)

Awesome! Thanks for the pictures. You are doing really well Misha! A lot has happened since you joined us around 7 years ago.

Big advances in job, married, baby, house and now a relatively flash car!  :victory: I feel like a proud father!  :crazy1:

Thank you very much, mates!
Let's hope it won't bring me any trouble.
In a "must be done" list:
 - make a trunk more spacious
- replace my current mats by rubber ones
- winter wheels
- apply a protective film

How do you do that?? Maybe you should have got the wagon!

They are generally one of the more reliable brands, so you should be all good.  :goodjob2: :goodjob:

Every good Russian home has a porta-power ram.

Well, Dazz, that's easy - by replacing a spare wheel with a thiner one and changing filler around it (this kind of kit is a common one for Mazdas sold in Europe).

The petrol consumption makes me really happy - it is lower than Ceed's, although the car is heavier and the engine more powerful.
LED headlights are awesome!

Mazda 6 wagon is not sold in Russia, unfortunately.

Good idea. I can actually relate. I lowered my boot floor, the PD SR already has a space saver. Plus, PD i30 Wagon not sold in Australia!  :disapp:

Led headlights would be nice! Mazda's are good on fuel these days.  :goodjob:

Congratulations.

I had a 2013 Mazda 6 GT - Twin Turbo diesel before we traded her in on the CX5 .. It was a fantastic car and the first brand new one I've owned. I miss her dearly as it was certainly a great looking vehicle.

Almost 14000km on the clock: the winter revealed some flaws of Mazda as compared with Ceed - headlights sprayers freeze; if a cleaning fluid freezes in the windshield sprayers (or in its hoses) there is only one way to get it melted, which is going in a heated area (the heat coming from the working engine is not enough, unfortunately).
What I also miss from Ceed: driveway turnoff lights, that switch on when the car turns either side (it proved very helpful in a dark time of a day); the steering wheel's leather is very sensitive - very easy to make a scratch, so it has to be kept in mind.

Interesting!

The new Mazda 3 has has 3 recalls in only a couple of months over here!

Well, even though it is said on the label "up to -20 degrees", it doesn't mean it's true (always a problem to find a proper fluid), not to mention the rapid changes in weather: when temperature may drop some 5-10 degrees within hour.

Haven't heard about this in Russia. I saw the price for the new Mazda 3 - that is as much as the new Mazda 6 (not sure if it's the same in other countries).

There has been a push up in price in the entry level models in the small car segment over here by most brands in line with an increase in safety features. Things like automated cruise and auto high beam assist are being introduced across the range in some brands. Between these recalls, the controversial new hatch styling and price increases it has slowed Mazda 3 sales somewhat.

Yes, something about the hatch I find irksome is the stretch ahead of the windscreen. Even Firty has a tidier shape while still putting the driver evenly between front and rear wheels. The Mazda appears to have been designed by the UN.

But I did :crazy1:
Bloody Google :-[

OK, so I slipped the new body in between. It tells me they're attempting to improve the shape by going back to Firty's timeless beauty, just like the PD did after the GD.
