Thanks Dazzler.

First time on the forum so I will provide some context on the problem and see if anyone has experienced anything similar:

2011 (FD) Auto Hatch purchased second hand.  One of the keys had been damaged so we had it replaced with an aftermarket key. The alarm had not gone off prior to this but we only had it a few days before getting the new key.

Problem 1: car will be parked, nothing around it (like cats or children) and the alarm will go off.  It could do it once or 5-6 times a night and then not again for a couple of days.

Problem 2: we will be driving the car and the door locks function once we speed up. Randomly all door locks will unlock.  All doors are still closed and secure but actuators have fired and locks unlock.

Problem 3: When stopped at a traffic light, the boot will unlock and show on the display as being open (it is still closed just unlatched).

Attempted solutions
Attempted Solution 1: have taken it to the Hyundai dealer who cannot find a fault on the diagnostics. On the second occasion they had it in overnight under cameras but the fault did not occur.  They say they do know what is wrong.

Attempted Solution 2: the supplier of the aftermarket key, replaced the key transmitter and recoded (issue persists)

Attempted Solution 3: I read on a forum from the UK to spray some innox/WD40 in the boot release as it may be a faulty sensor.  COmpleted with no change.

Attempted Solution 4: Pulled the fuse on the horn but the anti-theft horn is different and the alarm still sounded. Horn fuse reinstated.

Attempted Solution 5: I contacted a Car Sound/Alarm retailer who advised they only work on aftermarket alarm systems and as is a Hyundai fitted alarm, they need to resolve.

Conclusion:
I have no bloody idea.  Short of selling the car, this is driving my daughter (owner), myself (attempted problem solver), family and neighbours (annoyed) crazy.

All we can do is park it in the garage at night and leave it unlocked with the keys in the ignition. Not a viable solution for when my daughter is at University though.

Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.  I am stumped!

Have you tried a cold reset of the BCM? All the functions you list as faulty are monitored by, and signalled to, the Body Control Module.

This involves disconnecting the battery -ve lead for at least 30 mins.

Hi Shambles,

Nope that is a new one.  I will give that a run and see how it goes.  Willing to give anything a go.

Cheers

Sorry Anthony,  crazy busy at the moment.  I didn't even get this post worded properly.

Yes, disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a minimum of 30 minutes often fixes a multitude of problems.

Bit the same as unplugging a faulty washer or TV at home to clear an intermittent fault.

I will come back to this with more help if reset doesn't work.
