Tander and a couple of new Audis... More cars and another experienced driver might help improve the spectacle.

Well that wasn't too bad. They should rename the trophy the "Will Brown" trophy, he seems to be the one creating the most excitement.   :victory:

Yes, not bad! I still liked it better before safety cars! Although, they do bunch up the field which helped with this race.  :crazy2:

I have to say safety cars are one of the few American exports I'm in favour  of.

Never heard of Will Brown before but he's driving well in the i30N.

Here's his bio. Needs updating with TCR stuff.

Another great sporting Queenslander.
Like Ash Barty.  :goodjob2:

Race 1 & 2 very lively!! Pity that Heimgartner is having a crappy weekend, he must have a target painted on his car!!

I forgot about it until Trevor posted that comment. At least I saw the last 5 or 6 laps and obviously I'll now watch the 2nd race.

Thanks @Surferdude  :goodjob:

Yes, a great result. Shame about the early carnage though!  :crazy1:

They need to tidy up the coverage a bit. Lap numbers don't always correlate and I may be missing it, but they don't seem to show championship leaderboard? :undecided:

Will Brown might be leading by more than this now. I have a feeling this hasn't been updated after todays races.

Got it from here...

Yeah. Heaps more. I think the third race of the weekend attracts double points.
Check back later.
The SBS camera operators have a bit to learn. Or else they simply have less camera locations.
Also, no helicopter for aerial relay from the cars, so some break up.
Some awesome racing though back in the pack.

There has certainly been enough happening to generate interest going forward I think.  :goodjob:

There is talk of it being a support category for V8 supercars hope we don't lose the free coverage if that happens.  :undecided:

We probably will.  :crazy1:
Given the racing we've seen in two outings,  by the time you get 30 cars out there it'll be unstoppable.
The Renaults are a surprise given there's only 4 of them in the world.
And there are several more cars on their way atm.

Its all happening.

There was certainly great racing in there .. Brown coming in second after going off on the first corner of the first race was a good highlight, I think the low temperature in the tyres even after the warm-up lap will definitely keep things interesting for the drivers and the viewers!

They need to tidy up the coverage a bit. Lap numbers don't always correlate and I may be missing it,

Yeh some of the camera work/camera changes were a bit loose, however it was better than Round 1 of the coverage. The lap numbers may not correlate due to timed 30 minute racing.. so for example, i think it was Race 1, when they had a couple of Safety Car periods they announced "Final Lap" on Lap 14 of 16 as they'd reached the 30 minute mark.

Some awesome racing though back in the pack.

Garth Tander was certainly in the thick of a lot of it, I enjoyed his enthusiasm though and he had that massive slide in the final race which looked great! Felt sorry for the birthday boy Heimgartner though, poor bugger!

There is talk of it being a support category for V8 supercars hope we don't lose the free coverage if that happens.

Funny you should mention that .. I was scrolling through the Foxtel guide on my phone just this morning and they are showing Round 1 from Sydney at 11am today! Even if we lose the FTA SBS-HD coverage [which i hope we don't], hopefully they still do the live streaming.

Hopefully Adz,

Although if they limit the TV they might make the streaming paid.... fingers crossed they don't though.

Interesting  :D

 :goodjob:

I can’t see Mazda using someone else’s engine :undecided: they already have a 2ltr, just needs a turbo on it.

Might inspire Mazda to release a factory turbo model once again :fingers:

Yes but they’re bigger engines not suitable for TCR, Mazda need a new hot hatch like they used to have.

I'd heard that Mazda Australia have made their wishes known to Japanese headquarters over the years hoping for a new hot hatch, with any luck those requests might come into fruition with the latest hot hatch craze and a little push with TCR :fingers:
