My brake lights are intermittent. I see a letter from Hyundai on the forum talking about a recall for KMHD**** chassis numbers which mine is. But I read the symptom is that the dash lights come on, but on mine that doesn't happen. I had someone stop me at the lights yesterday and tell me my brake lights flash and then stop working. Do you think it is the same problem and would be covered under the recall? thanks Spin

Yes, that should fix it, that is one of the symptoms! When it gets to that stage it is quite dangerous (someone could rear end you!)  :sweating:

yes first symptom of worse to come, should be fixed under warranty,if your car is older than five years, just over $150 to fix or less if you DYI,hint if you go down this track,DON"T buy the new switch from Hyundai, get the part number and go to Cov Parts or similar parts supplier, the job is fairly simple if your nimble enough, bit harder if your old and seized up like me,but still a fairly simple job

It's a "recall" Rick...whether it's still under warranty or not is irrelevant...  :winker:

If subject to recall then no cost to the car owner.

My FD SLX keeps losing the cruise control, so I visited Barry Smith Hyundai and was told the brake light switch had to be adjusted....two months later still have the same symptoms after the "repair".
Hmmmmm ... A recall I think

There are two brake light switches (sounds like they used the wrong one)  :disapp:
