G'day,

I'm Smokey, a 50 year old guy from Brisbane, and after almost buying a Veloster 12 months ago, I've ordered an I30N :)

I'm buying the 202kw model, in performance blue, and as far as I know at this stage, there won't be any options (I think that'll change, the dealer hasn't got their briefing yet)

Thanks for letting me join your forums, I'll probably bombard you with questions about waxing (the car, not me), oils and lubricants (again for the car, not for the bedroom) and track days - if I get too annoying feel free to tell me to shut up :)

:wlcome02: Shane, you're the first that I know of to have ordered an N model, congratulations :goodjob: there probably won't be additional option because it's the top model and already comes with a full kit :)

A dash and floor mats and some aftermarket tint will be all you'll need.

What's the drive away cost if you don't mind me asking?

G'day Craig,

I'm not sure about the final price, obviously it depends on the dollar, but at the moment about 43k (48k with floor mats :) )

Hi, years ago you used to be able to screw the dealers for some good extras but that seems to be a thing of the past. The same as getting calendars, desk diaries it all seems to have dried up.

The dealer was shocked when I showed up with 5k in my pocket, and I knew a bit more about the car than he did, so I think they might throw in an air freshener for free:)

If they get the 180 kw model in, it's going to sell for under 40k - it seems they really want to get into the hot hatch market in a big way!

From what I've been reading I think in Aus we'll only get the 202kw unit.

I think we can blame the interweb thingy for that, they know that we know what Joe Blogs new car dealership down the road is charging, so they're told not to deviate from the head office price.

With my last new car I did get a crappy key ring, so thats a bonus

Yep, thats what the dealer thinks, at least initially, and the 180kw job might come in a Veloster wrapper.

So did I - I would have walked in and bought one yesterday if they still had the SR+ Turbo, but when I started researching I saw that they had de specced the Veloster, I was really dissapointed, until I saw the i30N :)

After a lot of research, I've discovered that the next N model to be released will be a Veloster.

(I really hate that people dismiss it as a hatch with only 3 doors, to me it's a coupe with an extra door:) )

Welcome Smokey. I bought my i30 used from a dealer and managed to get free matts and 2 years service. I would have taken the car regardless.

Hi Daz,

You may be jealous for the next few months, but then it'll be my turn when Hyundai release another fantastic  model, then after that they'll release an awd model, then a few months after that theres gunna be an awd  16cog flappy paddle auto 350 hp car with 6 wheel steering that runs on the smell of a banana skin. In the mean time, I'm just going to enjoy driving, be it going to Narrabri in my current ute (which I'm going to keep) , or blatting around Brisbane in the 30N, it's all good until the Coppers say no  :)

Thanks for the welcome John,

I'll be sure to post plenty of photos, and if you all ask nicely, I may just post one with a scantily clad voluptuous model draped across the bonnet .

Shane.

Wow! I might have to reinstate our MOM award (member of the month)

Buys the best model, has a sense of humour and offers to post some gratuitous nudity.. :goodjob:

I think I'll be happy with the SR. Being 60 y/o my boy racer years are mostly behind me now.
But, the 'N' will certainly be a game changer and hopefully make the few remaining anti hyundai punters pull their heads in...
