Currently averaging 42.3mpg, which google says is 5.56l/100km.  I'm a little disappointed it's not better, but it is the 4-speed auto.

Edit: That must be yank gallons.  Actual figure is 6.68 l/100km.

Just got back from a trip to Wales from The Netherlands and i got 5.5 ltr/100km. That's 18.2 km/ltr, which imo is pretty good. Average speed was 100/110 kph (65/70 mph).

The computer gave a range of 840 km.  When got back and a one-way trip was 670 km for 37 liters of petrol.

Fantastic! What is the speed limit over there on the highways?

Sorry to resurrect an oldish thread, but I didn't want to start a new one.

My last tank managed to get 6.45l/100km (96% highway driving) using the fill to fill method but car gauge was showing around 7.8l/100km

The below pic is 15km after a fill, doing about 80kph (testing to see how low I could get it).

6.45 fill to fill showing 7.80
Shown 5.20 equates to 4.3 fill to fill

...assuming all other factors being equal  :goodjob:

Pretty good figures for a 2ltr auto :goodjob:
I will admit, I have been driving very carefully and having the display in front of me, appeals to my obsessive nature.

The pic showing 5.2 is not a good indicator, as it is now standing at 6.9, after about 150km.

You can read that as a 5.7. Compare that to petrol and you're still in happyland. :D

Since selling my business, my diesel wagon is now the wrong car for my needs...  :undecided:

Was an excellent work vehicle (park in loading zones, massive boot storage, flat folding rear seats, roof rails, cheap service and 6l/100km)

Now I'm averaging high 9s in the burbs in  traffic and short trips.

That's a shame. You may be worth considering a hybrid? They are great in that environment.

Since getting out of business my i30 mainly just sits there.
I used to regularly do about a thousand kms per week.
Now it goes a month between fuel fills.
My economy is up from 4.3/4.4 to around 4.9, as not so much freeway driving.
