Carmaker Volvo has said all new models will have an electric motor from 2019.

The Chinese-owned firm, best known for its emphasis on driver safety, has become the first traditional carmaker to signal the end of the internal combustion engine.

It plans to launch five fully electric models between 2019 and 2021 and a range of hybrid models.

Some of the CX 60 & 90 models, T8 denotes hybrid with 3/100km figures. Heavy as well.

Going to be intresting to see what they come up with. The cars are heavy already so something has to give, be it range, cost, safety or comfort. Bet the petrol/diesels and hybrids will still be sold for as long as there is a demand.

From what I hear production will start in china and then move over to the other factories.
