Absolutely driving me crazy, when I turn right especially on a bumpy road there’s like a crackling noise coming from near side front wheel area. Can’t see anything obvious, has anyone else with the new model experienced this. Also getting rattling noise from the rear of car too. I can honestly say I wish I’d kept my old i30, great car with no problems, this one is a pile of *****.
No noise at all when turning left, only happening when turning right. Car is just over 1 year old, registered on 31 May 17.

Sorry to hear that, but car is quiet as a mouse apart from tyre roar on coarse bitumen.

No extraneous noises.  :undecided:

Frustrating!! Your description of "crackling noise" on a turn is typical of a worn CV joint although wheel bearing would also be suspect .
@Bubbacpt
Go back to dealer asap because the parts are critical to safety.

try this find a car park and drive in a figure 8 ride the brake to load the drive train if you are getting a clicking - hammering noise while turning look seriously at the cv joints.
sheeet sheet sheet sort of noise that goes when you brake look for stuck calliper dragging inside pad slide pins not greased properly

If its doing it on lock, sounds like CV joint I have a noise on my i3o when I go over a bump, only seems to be present in winter, not a peep from it in summer, I have had it checked but they could not find anything wrong

Had it checked out but nothing obvious, I have however noticed that if I put the front passenger near side window down the noise is not there, not sure if that’s the problem or if I just can’t hear it because of road noise cause the windows open  :lol:

Ok, they said nothing obvious... so what did you say, other than it's driving me crazy? What action did they take?  :crazy1:
