Having difficulty finding a part number or replacement part for the 4 rubber grommets on my plastic engine cover.

They have worn out and the plastic engine cover vibrates and causes unnecessary noise.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be amazing !

You know, I've found these before, most likely put the info here too.  Do you think I can find the info now?  Nope,

It will be a genuine item, it must be in some weird part of the catalogs. Could ask a dealer and try and get the part number off them.

I would try the dealer for a price, it may not be too bad. They should be able to figure out the part however I will help you along even though you will have to go OEM.

Alternate is try placing an order overseas online. Not showing stocked so don't know the freight but about $5 each for the part. Don't expect that  here at the dealer.

I's ay if they're more than $20 a piece I'd try online.

It's usually the back ones that wear, fronts should be fine unless you've lost them

Always adding value, TW  :victory:

I would view it as a challenge and try making my own, just for kicks.

Personally I'd be happy with an Engineering change and have the rear mounts the same as the front  retained with a standard hex bolt and spacer.

The heat and vibration kills those rear mounts. have yours rotted away yet

Front ones are mostly fine. But the back ones are definitely deteriorated.
Depending on price i figured replace all at same time....... depending on price that is :P

I wouldn't say they've rotted away yet but I did note they came off a little too easily when my son did the service.

Hmm.. definitely a pattern there. I wonder whether I can get my Bunnings Aerospace manufacturing process cranking out some suitable aftermarket solution. :P

Hopefully they turn up.
Will update if and when they do....

They accepted paypal which was good, but shipping was a bit much to Australia :(

Nice, usually I've had parts in 2 weeks unless they had to order in. Did you get extras?

Did you check local prices? Just curious

Can you take them out of the packet to get a good look at how they come. I'm going to have to order some my self I think. Mrs cover is flopping around

Nah, no extras, and didn't bother asking local dealer tbh.

Nice3, so it's the grommet and plastic body. They may need a smear of some sort of contact cement for them to stay in place in the cover.

One of the Mrs ones has come out and it appears there's some red glue, no idea what it may be. See how you go I guess

Just spotted the first issue with these, the pin punches a hole straight through the grommet either in time or with installation error.

On my hatch, which are still good, I smear a little rubber grease just to make these slip on easier , hopefully reduce some of the wear

Replaced without an issue. Used a little bit of rubbery superglue as well.

Back right was worn the worse with a hole in the bottom. Came off by hand with ease actually.
Back left was in so so condition, took a little coaching to get off with pliers, but not to much trouble <1 min.

Slides and holds on like a glove now  :victory: :victory: :victory:

1 noise down. More to go

Many thanks to @tw2005 mate. You are a legend.
