Howdy,

Just this this morning after my car had been sitting for about 1.5 hours I experienced the i30sr Starting Problem.
The engine temperature was almost cold.

First time this has occurred, my i30SR Premium is a Nov 2017 build and has just over 7,000km.
I wonder how many that have this problem are standard i30SR vs i30SR Premium - may not be relevant.

I'll wait for the first service to report this issue since Hyundai hasn't got a fix as yet.

Oh Bugger! That is not good. Apparently if it happens the best way to get it to start is to press the button with your foot off the brake at least once before trying again. I've had mine 15 months and 36,000 kilometres so far without the issue. Very unlikely to be related to SR V SR Prem (differences are only trim levels) I was wrong once, but never admitted it.

I don't recall a manual being affected, but the number of manuals is limited on here in line with the % of manuals v dct in the real world.

Yes, Hyundai (after a bit of a battle) replaced the fuel injectors on my PD2 SR DCT a few weeks ago and i've not experienced the warm start issue since. That said I do get lumpy idling intermittently (at a cold start sometimes it feels like a car with the fully Choke out (showing my age now))  which the dealership can't reproduce and no fault code... but the revs reported are in the normal parameters apparently...so another battle in progress.

Don't wait for the scheduled service, badger the dealer, complain to Hyundai, involve the motoring press etc etc....thats the only way I got any resolution.

Dealers are only the point of sale, for commission or profit.
If they need to chase anything up that is going to cost money for no return. 
Hyundai supply the product.

Bit of a circle really, Dealers cant find the issue in a guide so they push out the first examples as 'tested no fault found' it is only when they get a few back with the same symptoms (or perhaps the demo model does it a couple of times) that they push Hyundai for an answer. Multiply this by the number of dealers in the country and....

The local dealership had my car in for the whole of last week to "test" and apply the "Hard to start" software upgrade.
I had the fuel injectors replaced a few months ago and this seemed to resolve the warm start issue that i had experienced.... but now there was an intermittent lumpy idling...so i was hoping the software upgrade would resolve the idling lumpiness.

Picked up the car on Friday....d-logger still attached for me to record any issues.

I can't honestly say that the software upgrade has made any difference at all so far.

Update: I picked up my car on Friday 23rd with D logger attached....recorded numerous rough idling instances over the next few days. Returned to the dealer on 27th for them to upload the data to Hyundai.....Yep, the update doesn't appear to have resolved anything.

I've only experienced this starting issue once since starting this thread back in Oct 2018.

Today had the 10k service and the starting issue update was applied - FYI:

TSB SE18085 - Starting Performance Improvement

Not sure if this will make any difference since I only had this issue once.

Mine just had the ECU update Jan 4th, but doesn’t seem to have fixed it. Still having the warm start issue.
