I'm looking after my mother in laws 2011 FD after she complained that her favoured local mechanic was fobbing her off. From a review of her service book it was looked after by a Hyundai Main Dealer for the first 5 years then a local mechanic for the last 5 years. Essentially the local guy has done nothing more than an oil/filter change each year.
I've replaced the spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, brake fluid, coolant and transmission fluid. Next question is should the timing belt be replaced as a full kit including a new water pump? The service manual indicates that the belt needs to be replaced at 6 Years/140k. When talking to the local main dealer and checking the service schedule online using the VIN it is s...

Hey, so I have a 2011 Hyundai i30 2.0 litre 5 speed manual hatchback and I am looking at purchasing a turbo from a 2.0 litre i30N and installing into my car as stated above. Just wondering if anyone believes this can actually be done and any advise on the subject. It’s an interesting and technical modification and I just looking to gain as much information needed. PS I know I would have to get the car tuned afterwards if it were installed.

Hi All,
Recently I came across a terrific buy on a brand new official Hyundai Towbar and wiring kit for the PD. The part numbers are G3A35APH00 + G3A04APH00 (apparently these were superceded by the current part numbers but confirmed by Hyundai Australia as correct for my vehicle (PD MY18)). Bought from a dealership in Orange.
Haha not sure really why I bought it but is handy for the occasional Bunnings courtesy trailer load of large items or if I need to pull the skin off a custard! 700kg unbraked towing limit. :-/
Install all seemed to go fine - but upon starting the car for the first time the display shows a CHECK SYSTEM error message. And the usual Rear Park Assist (beeping and visual on display of how...

Hi all, I have a 2016 i30 Active X and have recently been having issues removing the key from the ignition. I have read other post regarding turning the steering and shifting the gear selector which didn't work. Today I banged the gear selector down, not too hard, while in the Park position and the key came out. Has anyone had a similar issue and was wondering what the issue might be. Thank you.

Hi all,
I'm aware this question has been asked a million times in a million formats, but I can't quite figure out an answer for sure.
I have a '2010' Hyundai i30 (FD) 1.6 CRDi auto, that was manufactured in October 2009 and first registered in December 2010. It's a '59 plate' but shows as a 2010 vehicle since it was registered essentially on Christmas. I'm in the UK, so part of the European market as such.
I cannot find out for sure, either from looking myself under the car, looking in my manual, asking around, looking on the forum etc, if I indeed have a CPF/DPF fitted to my car.
My VED/road tax is £150 a year, which is usually a good indicator if you have a DPF but not sure if that applie...

My 2015 GD CRDi with the 7 speed DCT has been flawless for the past 310,000kms (mostly highway).
A couple of days ago the wife drove it, to pick me up from the pub , and on the way home the transmission was appearing to play up. From the passenger seat, it appeared to be skipping gears. Took it for a drive the next day and no odd numbered gears, it would start in 2nd, then go to 4th and eventually 6th.
My local indie mechanic had a look at it and said that that the DCT appears to have failed. He said that it is beyond his skill level to properly diagnose and fix, as special diagnostic gear and tools are required. So off to the local Hyundai dealer on Monday to get it properly diagnosed.

So i am psyching myself up to do the power steering bush on the wife's car, thanks to all you gurus who have done them before and left handy instructions! Now looking to buy the part but on a few sites they get a bit confusing over which part number it is. Are all the Hyundai rubber star bushes the same for other models as well, or was this one just for the i30 FD?

Hello everyone,
I have a i30 Fastback 2019 1.0 TGDI petrol 120Hp.
I did a long drive yesterday, Approximately 800 kms. I can see I have issue with the clutch. It feels completely loose for first 50% of the push. After that, even when I press full 100% of the clutch I feel the gear shift is super hard (sometimes almost impossible).
I went to a local mechanic, he asked me to pump the clutch pedal rapidly to make the gearshift smoother (which actually worked) but again every few minutes later I have to pump it to shift the gears smoothly. So it definitely is a temporary solution.
