Hi all, I have a 2016 i30 Active X and have recently been having issues removing the key from the ignition. I have read other post regarding turning the steering and shifting the gear selector which didn't work. Today I banged the gear selector down, not too hard, while in the Park position and the key came out.
Has anyone had a similar issue and was wondering what the issue might be.

Not my model but is there some kind of electric interlock based on a gear selector switch that may be compromised?
