Hi all, I have an issue with my eps light, keep coming on and heavy steering. when it does I’ve done diagnostics, and it’s saying there is a problem with the steering column, I was wondering, if I purchase a steering column, does it need coding to my car? I have Hyundai i30 59 plate thanks 😊

Lizzy, yep steering motor failure or rather the little plastic spur gear, got mine fixed under a recall notice 2010 fd the Colum had to be calibrated to the 0 point for the steering sensor for the esp, shut the car down restart it all good for about a minute the fails again. happened around the 200k km
