Door Locking
So in the line of duty doing some research for this question, :link: leak in the electrical installation?

My car now no longer recognises the remote to unlock. Go to use the key, it won't lock with that either. It will lock with the push button lock all on the door, and will unlock with the key. One may be an existing fault I was unaware of as I don't keylock but the remote loss happened after I disconnected the earth and went looking to see what current draw was happening in the background.

Any ideas? Simple re-learn or is this a bloody dealer  charge?

Hi there,
We have also just had our car diagnosed as needing a new clutch. Initially at 76,000 kms we reported an engine vibration at around 1600-1900rpm which was dismissed as being due to damage on the car from hitting a Kangaroo. We thought this was fair enough (although it had started prior) given it would be reasonable on their part to assume it was from our accident. Reported it again at 90,000km service. At 105,000 the problem was diagnosed as a weakening of the dampening mechanism. Both the service manager and mechanic acknowledged there was left than 50% wear and tear and a warranty claim submitted and rejected by Hyundai last Monday arguing it was wear and tear. We have refuse to accept this and our grievances were put in wri...

Hi everyone

My i30 2010 model which is a manual petrol motor and has 130000ks on it keeps stalling when i drive it  gets to operating temp then when i park it at the shops for a couple of hours and drive it again it stalls while slowing down to stop at traffic lights or for traffic.

It does not stall if i drive it directly from point a to point b, only when you stop for a couple of hours and then drive again so the vehicle is still warm. If i park the vehicle all day and then drive it again after it is cold it does not stall i am confused any advice would be great.

I just dropped the Wife off in her 2008 i30 CRDI and noticed a knock on the steering. I read on another thread that there had been a recall :link: Hyundai Motor Company Australia Pty Ltd?Hyundai i30 (FD) Vehicle | Product Safety Australia
I rang the local dealer where we purchased the car and they said to bring it in next week as they can't look at it until after easter. Anyway I decided to take a closer look and could feel the play in the steering and knocking both when engine running and not running. First of all I drove the car up on ramps but nothing much to see as steering shaft etc mostly sealed....

i30 in the news
Hi All,

As some of you are aware, an invitation to a couple of group members was offered recently to attend the HMCA dealer launch of the new 2017 i30 at the new Sydney International Convention Centre.
This is just a short quick overview - we'll get into the details in a follwing post.

Trevor (@Surferdude) & I attended yesterday along with Justin from forum (Veloster). We were invited by Oliver (HMCA Dir Marketing) & our host for the day was Bill (General Manager External Affairs).
Trevor & Justin were flown by HMCA & being a local I just caught the bus  :undecided:
It was a full on organised gig and aimed at giving the dealer network an overview of the new i30's...

Test Drive
Okay, got to testdrive the new i30 today.

Like I wrote yesterday I would like to testdrive the 1,4 T-GDi. Disappointed. Not with the car though, as it turns out that engine option won't be introduced in DK before May. Why the hell do they advertice it if it isn't available..  :disapp:

Well, I got to drive the 1,0 T-GDi Premium. Overall a nice car, the steering wasn't as bad as expected actually. Very comfy seats and the interior looks very nice.

The engine have enough power to keep up with the traffic and is not heard much inside. It does have the turbo lag Tohis mentioned. It's quite annoying even when revved up to 3000 before next gear, it shouldn't have that lag like the turbo pressure totally disappear...

Test Drive
My local dealer had the introduction day of all-new PD i30 today. They had one (1.4 T-GDI 6MT Style) in the showroom, and another one (1.0 T-GDI 6MT Comfort with Navigation pack) for test driving. After waiting a bit for the previous test driver to return, I then got the key in my hand and was off for a half-hour drive.

The three-mug 1.0-liter chugged along with its distinctive purring sound, having enough power for casual driving, but felt completely dead under 1500 rpm. Although I didn't stall it, a fast biting clutch didn't make starting off too easy. Also when shifting to second gear at 20 km/h, it did that *umph.. wroom* hesitation typical in small turbo engines because of turbo lag after losing the pressure during shifting....

Suspension Springs
When I turn to the left I get a knocking noise from the near side suspension front and back I went to my local Hyundai dealer and they wanted 80+ just to look at it any idea. High millage 104000.

I have just booked a 15 point safety check at Halfords which includes suspension so hopefully they will find the problem cost FREE.Will update when its done.

Turns out it was the nearside spring, sorted.
