Yeah I know! I was only joshing. I used to ride a pushy to work when I was in the bank. I can remember a memorable ride home one Friday night after drinks! :winker:
Can't have been too many drinks if you can remember it.

Good point, I only remember bits of it! I remember an even more "memorable" stagger home once... where I kept pinching and reading peoples junk mail to keep myself amused! Strange thing is, I'm not much of a drinker!

Latest bike ride yesterday.  Train to Garswood near Wigan.  Cycled to the Leigh branch of the Liverpool to Leeds canal and cycled along the branch through the Wigan Flashes.  The Flashes are lakes made when the land sank due to the coal mines in the area.  Joining the canal at Wigan Pier then cycled back towards Liverpool passing Appley Bridge, Parbold and Burscough. Came off at Burscough then cycled to Ormskirk for the train home.  Just a few photo's as done this route before and posted pictures.

Decided to try a new route today.

The route took me behind Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

According to my cycle app there is a track around the airport perimeter on the River Mersey side which takes you from Garston to Hale, some 6 miles.

Got 2 miles into the track and a sign saying the track had collapsed and to use and foreshore for 200 yards.

Taking the detour i tried to rejoin the track but it had been overgrown so back to the foreshore and did this for 4 miles.

I should have just gone back and taken the road as i went through soft sand, mud, long grass, pools and even paddled in the Mersey!

Eventually ended up at Hale.

Hale is known as the home of the Childe of Hale, John Middleton (1578–1623). Legend tells that he slept with his feet out of the window of his small house.

According to contemporary accounts and his epitaph, Middleton grew to the height of 9 feet 3 inches (2.82 m).

Few photo's.

I've started cycling to work everyday in a bid to get fit, but people say it makes me look gay.

So, to macho up my image a little bit, I've drawn some racing stripes on my basket.

Latest ride yesterday was around Cheshire.

Starting at Winsford, took the track along the River Weaver/Weaver Valley to Northwich then headed towards Delamere forest for lunch.
Took the Whitegate trail back to Winsford, disused rail track for some 6 miles.

Enjoy......

thanks for the pictures Lester , I love seeing the different area's. are you off your chippy's? have not seen any chippy stop pic's.
I have been riding twice a week, Monday & Wednesday . the Monday rides get around 37 to 40 and it's only spring. the tracks are challenging as lot of mountains & rough dirt tracks but beautiful country side. I been poking along with slow group ( smell the roses ) my old friend has been out the front of the fast group with 30 & 40 year olds he is 71. so thought about time I got back into shape and new pushy with improved damping brakes wheels and tyres. so forked out more $.

Hi guys (and girls) A couple of shots of my new bike.

What's with the crank setup...looks like it's got an internal front gearbox :undecided:

hi lester, i have never worried about comfort that much. my close friend, also has a bike same just 29" wheels. he likes comfort. but he mentioned to me the seat might look hard but try it as it surprised him. feels like it is a gel seat.
I have ridden 100k so far have not had it one week.
tomorrows ride with the group of 35 to 40 riders in three paced groups, goes for 39k with some big hills, see how seat goes.

hi Craig you have good eyes!
this bike is electric boosted peddle assistance , with three level's of boost, eco, trail & turbo. it's very well designed with the specialised team designing the electric motor and the battery, the battery fits into the frame down tube. it is heavier than my old bike, but surprising it feels light and handles steers really well. the boost speed is limited to 25kph, has a 250w motor. I can ride it just as easy or easier than my old bike with the power turned off. but with power turned on it's amazing feels just like a normal mountain bike, then you hit a really steep hill ( we have a lot where we ride and on single dirt tracks ) you hit a big hill and you still peddle but you go up the hill easier. so much fun and great ride and handling also good brakes. I only have 15psi in tyres but the roll easy can run lower pressure and tubeless.
