Hi all
Do you have any idea on what are the conditions to let the hill assistant "assist" you? Every time I stop on a rise it's like the car flips a coin and then decides whether to aid me or not, so before complaining I'd like to fully understand what are the conditions that trigger this behavior..

Thank you

Welcome fra87,

I havent had this issue with my series 3 (2017) model.

I just assume you have to give the brake a good firm press when you pull up on a hill. Mine seems to hold fine when I remove my foot from the brake to pull away. Does yours also have the auto hold button? I seldom remember to use that function, but be interesting to see if that makes any difference  (if you have it)

My GD i30 was also hit-and-miss. No idea what gradient was required to initiate the hold sequence.

My experience with the 3 i30's and 3 KIA's I have owned over the past 10 years is that it needs to be a fairly steep gradient for it to kick in.
