I do remember when Hyundai first hit Aussie shores in 1986 (yes i'm an 80s tragic) so 32 years ago. I remember thinking who are they and where are they from and thinking with that first excel they won't be round long. Little did i know.

My time growing up involved mainly owning Nissans and Fords, Escorts, Falcons, Pulsars and half a dozen Skylines which are my weakness.
I've nver really taken much thought about owing a Hyundai since those days but it looks like H are now on a mission to move away from el blando image and produce some real desireability with there range. Also offering manual trans when  others are deleting it shows a desire to please all  types of drivers

The SR has spiked my interest in owning one as H are hot on the heels if not equal with Japanese brands and showing VW a thing or two.

I love my SR and I've had 32 previous cars + a handful of company vehicles to compare it with.

i30's seem to have more character than most other brands. It's hard to explain, but most diesel variants and the petrol SR just give you a feel good vibe.
