I have a hatch fitted with 225/40R18  Pirelli Cinturato P1.

If you are running them, can you give me a quick  good, bad or indifferent on:

1. Handling / Performance
 
2. Wear rate

3. Road Noise

I was always a Pirelli fan, but that tyre gets very mixed reviews on Product review dot com!

My bias view on Pirelli is based on my experience on the brand when I had it installed on my Subaru Forester 2002.  Around a curve around 40km/h @ Merryland on a rainy day and the car lost traction, i lightly brake before and into the turn to slow down and the subaru lost traction totally spin me around.  Checked and confirm that the tread still good so it not because of worn tire.

People still say Pirelli is the best around - yet that instance gave me the scare.  Since then I just switch back to Bridgestone and Good Year on the Subaru and now Kumho on I30.  Driving on the same curve on rainy days now without any issue.

My driving habit has not change, and that curve I traveled every day to and from work.

That is only one instance in my driving career that the car spin - may not reflect the brand

Interestingly I don't hear as much press about Pirelli these days (good or bad) although the i30N actually runs a specially developed Pirelli P Zero!

My other brand of choice in the distant past was Michelin and you still hear good press on them (seldom bad)
