Radio starts fine, then into the journey (no specific time) it just goes off (sometimes with a pop) and sometimes with the screen rolling. However this is not on every journey, very unpredictable. Has anyone else had the same problem or know a solution?

Hi Alice and welcome to the forum, it could be a loose connection at the rear of the unit, only way is to remove and inspect all the connections

This is the best I can find, it's in a foreign lingo but its self explanatory, you only have to watch the first half, but it will give you a good idea on how and what to remove, hope it will help you

Is it still under warranty?
If so, just get dealer to sort otherwise if they notice it has been tampered with they can refuse to cover it.

Hyundai i30 2009 radio problem
Should have asked if radio is within warranty as it could have been replaced

It would only just be out of warranty, I'd be surprised if they didn't at least look into solving the problem for the sake of customer satisfaction.

Radio is usually covered under the manufacturer's (of the radio) warranty. This is often only 3 years or less.. So 2009 would be well out of warranty! :Pout:

The connectors on the back of the radio don't click in IIRC so that's definitely the place to start looking.

Great, thank you everyone for you help. :)
