At that time of day, near Blackpool (the airport is virtually next door to where I work).

Strange, that in the 23 years I've been driving there, that's probably only the 3rd time one has taken off as I've been passing under the flight path.

Bugger me

I'll pass, thanks.  :scared:

They've changed the flight paths in recent times so where I live in the hills now has passenger jets flying over as they come in to land at Perth.

They're not too low though so no great problem and it's mainly in the middle of the night that I notice them if I happen to be awake.

when They come over us at Kewdale if I stood on the truck roof and jumped I could grab a wheel and catch a ride to the airport  :whistler:

What, Rick jumping (oh what a feeling), or the ride he will get?

Come to my work place, I get aircraft noise all the time!!  Bloody helicopter are the worst!!  It sometimes sounds like they are landing right outside my office!!

Rick, what was this bloke doing flying over your area?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimov

Or was it one of these.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-124

The C-5 Galaxy is massive, but not as massive as the An-124.

Jamie, yes the aircraft was actually the second one,be funny seeing the first one flying over, what you going on about Helicopter noise,I reckonthat is one of the best sounds, used to love it when I was in 161 Recce Sqn,getting to work with em every day, back in the day when I was there used to get rides in some interesting aircraft, can't remember the name of em all but the old piston helicopters were an experience,I think the most interesting one I went in was a wesex I think it was called,I couldn't get enough of going up in helicopters, sad it all had to end
