Just wondering if any advice about the cost of our 90k service. First thing to say is that very car ignorant and can rightly be criticised for not informing myself enough.

We took car to independent mech for a 90k service. We bought second hand at the end of last year. Log book didn't have good details of previous services so the mech called the previous shop and they said it needed a major service. Price is $1025 which is a fair whack more than we thought it would be. Won't have details of exactly what done until pick it up tomorrow but does this sound in the ballpark?

Sure sounds expensive, but it really comes to that what was actually done. Small services will add up quickly. Not sure if your car uses those a bit more expensive spark plugs, but they might add the cost. Also automatic transmission service is not cheap either. But it would be interesting to see all what was done for that price.
