First glimpse for me. Looking like a PD i30, this nice black hybrid was on the freeway going into Auckland. It was ripping along at a head spinning 80 kph, while holding up a long line of cars trying to do the 100kph + speed limit.

I think the model is capable of more speed and suspect that the fault lies with the purse clutcher types who buy hybrids.

So it wasn't an Ioniq? 

I hadn't hear of a Hybrid PD i30 (I thought the Ioniq was the closest thing to that?

Hybrid was  the badge. otherwise probably would have assumed it was a petrol PD. Not like I could stop and talk to the driver, sorry.

I also thought about it being a pre-release drive for one of the usual journalist babblers.
If I get the opportunity in Wellington, I will have a talk to a dealer or too.
