The GD-03 (i30), AD-01 (Elantra), DM-01 (Santa Fe) and TL-01 (Tucson) all now officially support Android Auto in addition to Apple Car Play via means of a firmware/software update.

To check if you need the update, follow the below

From your vehicles head unit, Press Setup then tap/touch System then Device Information and check the versions of the firmware/software currently installed. If your versions are lower than than the following then you are in need of the update:

SW Ver: 2.04.02
Micom: 3.27.00
Platform: 1.76.00

This is a free update however dealers may charge you a fee in order to have it installed in your vehicles head unit. You can however do this yourself and it is quite easy. The update files and full instructions are available freely on the cartronics website who are the manufacturers of the GD-03 (i30), AD-01 (Elantra), DM-01 (Santa Fe) and TL-01 (Tucson) head units.

As aanastasiou4 has shown the mega.nz link is still live, cartronic's don't keep downloads live for much longer than a week.

You can also have it installed at any Hyundai service centre for free.

Sorry mate, as the pic shows you have a GD-02 so it’s incompatible with the firmware discussed here.

Yes it’s the last update for GD-03 units, as mentioned earlier you have the GD-02 which is incompatible with this firmware.

Hi, Know this is a old thread but any chance this will work on a 2015 HYUNDAI SANTA FE ELITE CRDI (4X4) DM SERIES II (DM3)?

Just did this on my i30 and worked great. However cannot establish what head unit the Santa fe has got. Is that DM or DM3?

I wouldn't have a clue not many Santa Fe owners here...cant say I've seen anyone discuss the head unit either

A Elite model Santa Fe would have a navigation system as well wouldn't it? if so it's definitely not compatible.

I expected it so, sorry to spoil your day

For this update to work the unit has to firstly be an Australian Cartronics built unit without navigation.
