Hi,

2009 Diesel Sx Hatch automatic. Done about 50,000 kms

Not knowing much about cars, but does anyone have any opinions on the following....

Was driving down the highway and I heard a loud thump/bang from under the car. I pulled over and then tried to drive slowly back home (probably did more damage), but the car would get stuck after 2nd gear and just rev, so I pulled over. This time I called a tow truck and I found out that it wouldn't move at all, it would just rev.

Tow truck driver says since the gear stick changes into P/R/D fine and there is no fluid/oil leak, it's a good sign. But he checked the transmission fluid and he said it didn't look great.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

There have been a few issues with auto transmissions under warranty on what is a generally trouble-free model, so I guess you'll need to wait to see what the dealership has to say.

Whereabouts in Australia are you?

Sounds like the Tow Truck driver was a good bloke
