Title: I30 Trophy mods
Post by: G4NBTim on January 04, 2021, 07:55:58
Hi,
I have a i30 2014 Trophy 1.8 6 speed manual. It is stock at present but would like to start modifying as it is soon out of warranty.

What are the best  mods, chips, cold air intakes, suspension etc

Thanks for your info.

Unfortunately there's not much out there for 1.8ltr GD models, Race Chip hasn't done a plug in option so if anything could be done to the ECU it'll have to be a direct write via a capable local tuner.

The airbox can also be fitted with a K&N filter  :link: K&N Panel Air Filter [ref Ryco A1727] FOR HYUNDAI I30 1.8L L4 F/I (33-2451) 24844282620 | eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/K-N-Panel-Air-Filter-ref-Ryco-A1727-FOR-HYUNDAI-I30-1-8L-L4-F-I-33-2451/253461027689?epid=1308193870&hash=item3b03745b69:g:HdcAAOSw1Qxfscqn)  for better airflow, if you're capable the intake side of the airbox can be opened up to fit some flexible ducting which gets routed around to the behind the grill, I'm unaware of aftermarket airboxes for the 1.8.

There are a few brands that do suspension mods though, Eibach - Kings - Pedders.
