any good sites to buy aftermarket upgrades for I30(elantra touring) that are made FOR the car and not something that ''might'' fit???

Shark Racing has quite a few, though not so much if you're a turbo diesel owner. :/

Getting to a point where I might have to suss out organising my own custom mods for my 08 FD, namely upgrading the intercooler with either fan-forced cooling with matching shrouding and ducting from the front grill to better direct airflow to it or replacing it with a dual pass intercooler mounted in the front part of the lower bumper behind the bottom grill. I'm actually quite surprised no one has developed a proper standard kit to upgrade the intercooler yet, given how long the turbo diesels have been kicking about.

Might have to also see if a boost controller of some sort can be used with the variable geometry turbo to up the boost a bit, though I'd rather make sure the intercooler is up to the job before looking into that.

Thanks for the info on Shark Racing :link: Hyundai i30 - Shark Racing  Onijin :goodjob:

The power intake spacer kit looks interesting, I'll have to investigate that further I think :)

Not that I know the 1st thing about this subject, but wouldn't it be quicker / cheaper to just add a misting device to the original intercooler  You would remove latent heat by evaporation, causing cooling and denser air as a result.

That's also a possibility, though the question would be where to put the water reservoir in the engine bay and ensure the heat from the engine bay doesn't heat the water up much to reduce the evaporation benefits. Anyway, nothing to say I can't combine several options together.

How much (HP) would be gained if such a misting device is installed witht he stock IC...

The only way to determine that would be to physically test on a Dyno. Too many variables to make a guess.
Air temp, humidity, pressure, etc.

In Europe it would be pointless if the ambient temp was <4 Deg C as the mist could freeze onto the intercooler tubing due to the initial evaporation. Misting works best in hot dry climates where the air is capable of evaporating a decent amount of water into the passing air. In some countries, misting is added to incoming air in minute quantities in carburettor cars, to provide a humid environment in the combustion chamber, where the moisture is heated into steam by the fuel to provide extra power.

on my side i'm currently trying to find part compatibility with the last generation of Tiburon sold here in Canada.
They are supposed to be using the same engine and transmission than our car.
I'm currently trying to see if flywheels and clutch kit are compatible

Then we can start looking at headers or turbo kits

Fitting a larger FMIC on its own can have negative results, like lag and your turbo unable to maintain boost because it can't maintain the volume of air in the cooler and you rather loose some psi ,you would have to upgrade the actuator  and adjust on a dyno  and you won't see more hp as such.

The route I would take is fit new cooler, upgrade actuator and remap, when remapping they can then adjust the actuator  then you would see some benefits.

If you want to have more hp without the hassle of bolting on odds and sods ,just get it remapped it's cheaper and you'll see the benefits

we only got the 2.0L NA engine here in Canada.
From my understanding nobody in america is able to remap the Hyundai ECU, they all run piggy backs or Megasquirt
