I have a 2009 1.6 CRDi with a 5 speed gearbox.
Is the 6 speed gearbox a direct swap?
Anyone done it on their car?

Someone else was asking same for petrol a few weeks ago.

Think 6sp only had a more even ratio spread but same top ratio.

I think the consensus is that the effort and cost is not reflected in the minimal benefit.

Unless you existing 5 speed $hit itself and you had access to a good 6 speed at less than what a similar used 5 speed would cost then I would leave it alone.
