Hi Matty, i can't tell you that, but i could be possible the 1.6 & 2.0 share some components.
there is 24 cubic inch difference, shared between 4 cylinders so each cylinder is 6 cubic inch larger on the 2.0. possible they share the same block. if they do would make things simpler. if they use different blocks would be too much trouble. would probably be easier to import a 2.0 CRDi model.
but Matty problem is you could spend a whole lot of money, but you would not have any idea what the car is going to be like to drive till its finished. then you might not think it was worth it. if you can test drive a 2.0, you would get a better idea.
best starting point would be a car wrecker than imports Hyundai.
myself i'm thinking you could fit Nitriouse oxcide or LPG injection. i think the LPG would be easiest to find a fitter that does diesel.
