i30ownersclub Forum: Code of Conduct and Board Rules
We expect all members to abide by the i30ownersclub Board Rules and by joining our community you agree to follow the Code of Conduct set out below.
This begins as soon as you register and will be enforced immediately upon registration and in some cases before posting in the forums. It also applies to the website as a whole, across the board in all threads, messages and posts.
Please remember also, that this is a public forum accessible to anyone of any age - whether a member or not.
Note: Private Messages or PM's are 'Private' and should not be posted in the forum without the senders consent.
I. User Names:
Behind every participating user name is a real person, please respect their orientation in life and opinions at all times.
- Choose a user name that is inoffensive. If a user name is found to be offensive it will be removed without warning.
- You have the ability to amend your visible name in your profile settings. Please do not include HTML or non-English characters in your chosen name; please also do not use a name that resembles an email address.
- Members selecting a name to impersonate another user will receive a permanent ban without warning.
- Members creating multiple user names without a prior agreement with Admin or Moderators will be permanently banned from the site.
II. Spamming:
There is a zero tolerance to spam here. Anything that is deemed to be so will be removed with immediate effect and the spammer banned at the discretion of Admin.
- Empty messages or replies made invisible (by font and background colour being the same), quotes with no new content or reasonable meaning and repetitive questions or inane words is spam.
- Pornography, pornographic images or sexually offensive material is spam.
- Self promotion of businesses and anyone involved with them, charity request threads made without prior permission, auction sites, personal sales elsewhere, requests for referrals, referral links, third party affiliate links, advertising for personal gain and displaying of e-mail address in the forums is spam.
- Duplicate threads will be deleted at the discretion of Moderators if already posted within the last month. Please use the search to avoid this scenario.
- Bumping old threads without good reason is not permitted and will be classed as spamming.
- Spamming by PM or Private Message will also result in account suspension.
III. Trolling, Trolls:
- Trolls are people who for no reason want to disrupt a forum topic by constantly posting out of context posts, derogatory comments, throwing insults, making personal attacks and deliberately inciting a negative response from other members. This is called trolling in public forums and won't be tolerated here.
- Users or groups of users who continue to attack other members because of their views and opinions, attempting to beat them down or demean them, will have posts deleted and may be suspended.
IV. Racism, Religion, Sexuality:
Attacks on a person's faith, race, colour or sexual preference will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of Admin and Moderators without prior warning to the offenders.
- A person's religious, sexual, political or any other orientation in life should be respected at all times.
V. Profanities, Foul Language, Rudeness:
There is a swear filter in place to help remove profanities from posts.
- Anyone attempting to get round the word filter by any means will face a ban.
- Rude posts or images (including images used as avatars) are also not acceptable and will be deleted without warning at the discretion of Admin.
- Please be polite to your fellow members at all times.
VI. Reporting Offending Posts:
Members have the ability to report posts made by others if they think any of the rules have been broken and we thank you for using this feature.
- A report link is placed to the right of every post. Use it if you think the post requires Moderator attention.
- Reported posts will notify Admin and Moderators of the offending post. Please include a brief description with your report.
- Do not reply to an offending post, leave it to Admin and Moderators who will deal with the situation as soon as possible.
- Responding to offending posters in any thread with aggressive replies, or inciting them to continue will be considered as an offence in itself.
VII. Admin and Moderators:
All the above rules will be strictly enforced by Admin and Moderators at all times. This is their duty on the boards.
Moderators are here to keep the forum as user friendly as possible. They're the same as other members but with extra privileges that enable them to carry out their tasks. Please remember they are human too and do occasionally make mistakes.
If you disagree with a Moderators decision, please send a PM to the Admin (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=60) and include a brief description.
Admin will have the final say in any disputed decision and on all aspects of the forum.
VIII. i30ownersclub Code of Conduct Extras:
All of us have questions to ask at some point, as we can't know everything and as our community grows so does the extensive knowledge base of our members. You all have something to offer and we would like to see discussions and posts conducted in a friendly, civil and respectful way. These rules and the Code of Conduct should help to achieve our aim for a happy, caring and sharing environment. We all love our i30s so let's show it!
In editing, deleting and the general moderating of posts, we can't be certain to read every single one. We hope you'll forgive us if we miss, or don't get to see, the occasional reported bad post.
The opinions and views of our members are not necessarily those of the i30ownersclub Administration.
IX. For Sale and Wanted Forum:
This part of the i30ownersclub forum is basically created for personal sales that are more akin to your local newspaper classified ads and should be treated as such.
Please Note: Under 18's (sometimes classified as "minors" in your country) are able to use any part of the forum, including the For Sale and Wanted forum. Please bear this in mind when trading, as we are unable to confirm or take responsibility for the age of any user. We also suggest that you collect as much information and as many details as possible before starting to trade with anyone.
- No prohibited, classified or illegal items.
- No dealing by PM only, all interest of acceptance or not should first be posted in the thread.
- If you are not interested in buying or trading with users, please don't post there as your posts will be deleted for thread spoiling.
- Should you have a query about a trader, please do not post in the thread, use the report link or PM a Moderator.
- Accusations or interference without good cause will be deemed as thread spoiling and your posts deleted.
- If you have a link to a better price for the item for sale, one post for that is sufficient, all other irrelevant posts will be deleted.
- Never post your personal details in threads; either send them to the person you're dealing with or PM them to a Moderator.
- You must not list your items for sale or trade here if they're listed elsewhere online, unless you are prepared to provide a link to that listing; this also applies where you have more than one of the same item to offer. This doesn't mean you cannot point our members at your eBay listing if it represents a saving on the manufacturers RRP. However, please don't link to auction-style listings where our members have to bid. Keep the links to "buy it now" sales.
- Continuous 'bumping' of threads, to promote your sale, will result in closure of those threads. Please edit your last reply in the thread rather than 'bump' with new replies; this includes bumping by proxy.
- Items in threads that have been moved or closed must not be relisted until at least a period of one week has passed from the date of closure.
- Selling items on behalf of a third party is not permitted - the item(s) must belong to you and be in your possession.
- Please ask permission from a moderator if your post count on the i30ownersclub is less than 10, or if your registration with the forum is less than 14 days old, when listing an item for sale.
X. Forum Expectations:
A valid e-mail address should be available in your profile at all times to provide us with a means of contact should the need arise.
Posting the same messages or threads in more than one forum isn't necessary, please make sure you choose the correct forum before posting your topic and post just one of it.
We reserve the right to delete any posts and for any reason at all. It's also not a given right to expect an explanation why this is done either by PM or in a thread reply. However, we will try to let you know, provided we have the time and ability to do so.
When making a post or creating a new topic and thread, please think before you click on the "post" button. The last thing we want to see is a reply turning a discussion in to an over exaggerated argument.
These rules and the Code of Conduct can be changed or updated at any time, please check them regularly.

This change is necessary as the automated backup system fails when it encounters a user name in the format name@domain.com.
