Hi to all from the Scottish Borders. Today I bought myself a used Hyundai i130 2011 4 speed auto with 46,000 on the clock. Test drove it and found it very enjoyable. The car was on at £5000 which I thought reasonable. My budget was £3000 plus a 2009 Mini with 92,000 on the clock as a px. Before the test drive I was straight with the salesman saying if we couldn't reach that deal I would have to walk away.
Long story short. After the test drive I said I really liked the car but didn't want to shake on it there and then. Rather than let me go he asked what he could offer me as a sweetener. Now, me being me I said £2,500 for the Mini which ultimately ended up at £2,400! Therefore I shook his hand and came away a happy man. I pick the car up on Wednesday. For the record the other cars on my list were Ford Focus, Peugeot 308, Vauxhall Astra or Citroen C4, but the i130 won out. I have a long trip down to Birmingham and back on Thursday which will be a drive of around 700 miles. I'll report back on my thoughts and findings.
