I bought a hyundai i30 2009 and had 2 keys.
The second one had a broken blade so I bought a new key fob with uncut blade and went to make a copy of the original blade that I am using. Then I went home and take out the old key took the transponder, chip and baterry and put inside my new key.So I went and try to open and close my car with the remote and it works good but when I try to start my car with my new key it wont start, also I've noticed that the little key on the dashboard doesnt turn on when I insert my new key.
How can I fix this and use my new key ??

Do you still have the old casing..? If so, try hold it right next to the new key when starting the car. If ok, then you haven't got all part out of the old casing..

Suggest you put all back into original case and change broken key for new one. See if that works

Ps
Does spare still work?

Well thats not possible because i had to brake the old case to retrieve tha transponder and the chip.
Also I forgot to say that when I bought the car the blade was broken only the remote was working just like now so I dont know if they used that one for starting the car.
If thats it do I need to reprogram the key now??

I am sending you 2 photos from when I have put the original and new key.
On the second one there is no little key on the right side like the car doesnt read the key but still I can open and close with the new key. How is that possible??

It's possible because the remote and the immobilizer doesn't share the same coding

If you're not sure the old key could start the car I would suggest to have both keys programmed. The missing key symbol on the dash suggests that the ECU doesn't read the key as you pointed out.

No, that's a job for your Hyundai dealer.. Remember both keys must be programmed.

Worth checking with a couple of dealers for a price. Worth a few $$ to have a spare key.

You could get the original cloned by someone other than the dealer and should be cheaper

sorry missed this for while. often have to do this.
The correct blade will open doors and turn ignition lock. If the immobiliser has been previously armed by your good key , the alarm will sound. Turn off and try again. It should be ok.

Sounds like you have the wrong chip or no chip in the fob.

The ignition lock has a live aerial coil that reads the chip and sends a signal to a transponder and then the ECU.

The black chip is in a small plastic holder. Make sure it has not dropped out.

A good lock-smith will be able to read the signal from the existing key and car, then provide a cheap aftermarket 2nd key. (A$130)
If you want to have remote open function, he will need to get a code from Hyundai. They will need your Vin#. An after market key with remote is about (A$230-$250).

I can open and close doors with my new remote with the old chip and transponde(little blac plastic in the upper right corner of the case) and also I can open and close doors with the new blade without activating any alarm.
Just when I try to start my car I can hear the engine starting but it wont start.
About the immobiliser that you have mentioned I have noticed the first time when I bought my car that when I wanted to open the door with my original blade it will open and the alarm will activate and I needed to deactivated with the remote.
But now the alarm wont activate when opening with my original blade and also with my new blade

I forgot to ask,how can I turn of that immobilizer??
The strange thing for me is that I can do everythin with the new key and remote open and close doors, turn the ignition on(only the little key on the dashboard is not on) but still the car wont start 🤔

Is this the time to suggest disconnecting the battery?

I've already disconected the battery many times when the car was at my mechanic for other issues.
Do I need to do it again?

The key open/close function is separate to the immobiliser/start function.
Gets a bit complex: If you have a key, programmed to open / close (but without a correct chip), it will still open the doors, but will not act upon the immobiliser. Therefore, your car will not start.
The immobiliser status is being displayed by the key symbol on your dash display.

But I've taken the chip from my old key, I suppouse they've used that one for driving not just for opening and closing the doors.
Nevermind,if the problem is in the chip and not in the blade what ahould I do,reprogram the new on?

Your car exists because there is an inert chip in your key fob.  :)

The ECU/transponder are programmed to accept only IT.

I think you probably have a key from a different car.

As said, the open close function is separate from the chip and it's start function.
Take both keys and the car to a locksmith who does vehicles. They will analyse the functions immediately. In Australia, no need to go to Hyundai to get the (expensive) work done.

Mate, I do not know what the previous owner has done. He may a bits from two cars.

I have often remade one key from another and been successful.
But on one occasion, the chip fell out and I spent a day trying to figure out what the problem was.
I suggest that you have one of the above problems or solutions.

Well I dont think that it was from two cars because it was verry old and take me a lot of time to dissamble it. And the other thing that you've mentioned I didnt drop the chip or damage it.
I'll go to the locksmith that made my new blade ask him and see what he sais about this.
