Hi Guys,
I have leak coming from oil filter housing. I am suspecting o-ring damaged.
Is it possible to replace it, without having to drain oil?
Thanks,
Paolo

Paolo, when I changed mine I noticed it was at the top of the engine, so I am inclined to think that you can change it with very little oil loss if any. However, you do not show your model or location in your profile, which makes it difficult for people to help you with any confidence.

hi Paolo ,
how long since oil was last changed?
-
It has been 9 months since last oil change.
-
@9 months why not just do a full oil change
-
That what I am thinking to do at the end. I checked and seal I can get only with oil filter. I cannot buy just seals.

Yeah, you could get a new o-ring from a machine part wholesaler for a few pennies. Should not have to drain any oil to replace. But at 9months, I’d just replace the entire filter and put new oil in, not worth the effort measuring the correct size o-ring and locating it when your soon due for oil change anyway.
