Hi,

I've got an i30 1.56 Diesel Active, 64 plate and the bluetooth is driving me mad!

It connects to the phone ok but I want it to connect to my phone and automatically play my podcasts/music.

It seems that if I hit the Media button too soon it fails and says "No Media", the I have to shutdown bluetooth on my phone or switch to Aircraft mode the on again before it will connect. Even then I cant touch the Media button for at least 10 seconds or else I'll have to do it all again.

This is definitely a problem with the bluetooth on the i30 because I also have a new i40 which works flawlessly.

Is there a way I can upgrade the bluetooth firmware?

I'm thinking if not I'll just go for a completely new aftermarket Satnav/Media player!!

Has the head unit firmware and software been kept up to date?

You could Email Hyundai Customer Services and ask what files are the latest then open your car settings to check. They probably need the VIN number - I know that KIA require it.

It eliminates a possible reason and at this stage has cost you nothing.

The logical option is to just wait the 10 seconds for the sync to complete then it should be fine, right :undecided:

I'm not sure about on the i30 - I have owned 3 but the latest was 4 years ago.

On my Niro you press a cogwheel button under the satnav screen to open the settings then work through the options. Your car probably works on a similar principle since Hyundai and KIA are basically the same cars with different styling.
