HEY!,
Long story short my 2017 i30 had a part of the dash damaged from my local dealer. They are offering to repair it but I'm would like to no how much of the dash needs to be torn down to get to this part.

Its on the passenger side just above the glove box. It does look like a part that's just clipped on.

No idea on procedure.
Make sure they add repair to the service history,  you see it on the screen, for future reference.

That part is real easy to come off.   I could do it in around 2-3 minutes...

If you open the door. Pull off the door rubber seal by the dash. The side panel of the dash will just pull out.
Then there is just one phillips head screw holding that part in.   Then the rest of that panel just unclips as you pull it out..

Then if you have the start button. That will just unplug.

I had all mine out when I upgraded the stereo.  I took all that off to run the left hand side speaker cables through..

It really would only be a 10 - 15 mins job tops...

yup as everyone has said, very easy to remove. not a problem at all for the service centre.

apart from what Dazz described, actually the start button and the panel for the door lock/unlock and airbag signs have screws as well securing them to the panel. those need to be unscrewed as wel, but very easy.

Yes sorry I meant to say replace....

I guess I’ll book it in now. The original job was a warranty claim on both front seats as they started to change colour and go white lol. So the “experienced” mechanic that fitted the new seats scratched the dash, door and kick panels.

So I would avoid sunco Hyundai on the Sunshine Coast if anyone is near by lol
