Title: UK Petrol Prices
Post by: AlanHo on December 23, 2021, 13:23:40
These are the current prices at the service stations within 3 miles from home. Guess where I go to.

I joined petrolprices.com a few years ago and get weekly updates plus I can access the prices any time by opening my account on the web. It's also useful to get local info when we are away from home.

I paid £135.9 last week for e10.

Pump price at Sainsbury's was £1.409 but had a voucher for 5p off per litre if I bought minimum of 40l.

Was down to quarter so just topped with 40l and will take me into 2022.

I presume that is per litre,  here in sunny Queensland it's around $1.40 - $1.55 seams to bounce up and down every day,   but would be equivalent to 75=85 pence ,   and we moan that's expensive..lolol

Since the UK's ASDA fuel stations landed in the hands of the cartel, petrol prices have rocketed. It used to be the case that where there was an ASDA petrol station, you'd know you were getting the best price. It kept other retailers competitive too.

Prices should have dropped by around 12p/litre following a drop in the price of oil. Thanks to private equity...

A few months later and these prices look cheap! Haha, I hope you're all keeping strong in the current economy. 👍

Not sure about up there, but down here, we are suffering.

R26.00/l at the moment, six months ago it was R18.00/l, and back in 2020 when the pandemic hit it went as low as R13.00/l.

So yeah, roughly doubled in the last 36 months, and of course food prices along with everything else has skyrocketed. It didn't help that I swapped my ~13km/l Hyundai for a 13l/100km Audi :crazy1:

I'm holding onto my 23km/L Firty for as long as I can.

I can't say that I blame you! That rivals what my motorcycle used to get and that's a 1500kg car vs a 200kg bike :goodjob:
