Title: I30 Entertainment centre resetting
Post by: T0wnzy01 on August 22, 2022, 21:01:30
So I was in the middle of updating the navigation software on my 66 plate I30 using the files off the hyundai website when my little one pulled the USB mid install now when I turn the car on I get the loading/welcome screen and the radio before going black and then trying to load again, it doesn't even register a USB any more. Is there anyway to reset it or reinstall the original files again it's a standard gen 1 or is it a trip to a hyundai garage.  :undecided:

That's one of those moments with tech of all types that comes with a Do Not Turn Off Until Finished warning.

I recovered the BIOS on a friend's tablet after some considerable research and a lot of trial-and-error and handed it back to her advising her that the BIOS and Windows would now do a bunch of updates to catch up.

The first time the update got going it mentioned wiping the boot record, she panicked, shut it down and it's now thoroughly bricked.
I could be wrong but my guess is your system has gone the same way. If you can't get the USB recognised, there may be little a dealer can do.

I know I know I turned my back for 2 seconds and she'd already pulled the USB out.  So basically it could be knackered but it might be a good excuse to get a new one fitted
