![]() I have a i30 Fastback 2019 1.0 TGDI petrol 120Hp. I did a long drive yesterday, Approximately 800 kms. I can see I have issue with the clutch. It feels completely loose for first 50% of the push. After that, even when I press full 100% of the clutch I feel the gear shift is super hard (sometimes almost impossible). I went to a local mechanic, he asked me to pump the clutch pedal rapidly to make the gearshift smoother (which actually worked) but again every few minutes later I have to pump it to shift the gears smoothly. So it definitely is a temporary solution. Any suggestions? Thank you November 07, 2021, 17:31:03 by Romy99 | Views: 5092 | Comments: 4
![]() I recently bought an i30 1.6 CRDI diesel and I'm absolutely in love with it. I do 80 kms 5 days a week so buying a diesel was a given. During my drive to work on Friday, I noticed a higher fuel consumption (I like driving in the most economical way possible) and a change in engine sound. That got me worried because I didn't know anything about DPF prior to this. Driving back home after work didn't change the situation during those 40 kms. I assume that's because I always drive between 1500-2000 rpm no matter the speed (please correct me if I'm wrong). I later read that I should drive it at higher rpm to raise the temp of the engine so that the soot can be cleaned. I drove today for 20-30 minutes at about... ![]() I’m just outside at the moment. I’ve been replacing all the interior lights to LEDs (simple enough). However one of the LEDs were too big, I forced it in and seen the slightest spark. This turned all my interior lights off and now the car won’t lock using the central locking on the key. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’ve taken a quick look at the car’s interior fuse box and they seem fine. I have the FD, 1.4 Petrol. Not great that I’m doing this on a cold night. At least it’s not raining. 😊 Thanks guys. ![]() The centre led brake works fine and all the other lights work on the rear. I'm not sure where the brake bullbs actually are where they are on the hatch or the sides of the car body. The ones in the hatch have the reverse lights and another set of lights which both work. So i guess they are in the side? I don't want to start removing the housing as its odd that both bulbs have stopped working so thinking issue is something else. Last week I did have to drive through a fairly big puddle in the road, maybe the level to the underside of the car so not sure if that might have caused the issue. Also tried re... ![]() Since new ( 2013 ) i have never found the cruise control very good on my i30 GD petrol. It isn't broken and give it a flat road and it holds the speed. Add a few hills though and it really is unusable. First it lets the speed drop too much. Then regains the speed aggressively only to go well over once your crest the hill. On the down it gains a good 10 -20Kph which then triggers the downshifting to try to reduce the speed which it gained by holding the gas on too long!! Basically it responds a couple of seconds after the event, like coming too late for the dance. I have owned Toyotas and Mazdas and they hold the speed like a laser beam compared to this. As soon as the speed gains or looses just 1 -2 kph you feel... September 21, 2021, 13:18:13 by Richo123 | Views: 1320 | Comments: 5
![]() It has had an intermittent long crank, smokey start on cold mornings for as long as I can remember, some days it was ok. It felt like at least one of my tradie neighbours saw me start up in a cloud of smoke in the mornings so embarrassing. I have now replaced all four with NGK Y-527J plugs, all four original plugs were open circuit. The results are fantastic, this car has never started this well since I have had it and there is no more smoke and splutter on start. Now it starts without hesitation, every time, better than ever. Thanks heap... |
