Hi all

My daughter was in the osr seat and climbed forward still in the seat belt till it would go no further. It now won't retract. Popped the plastic cover and it looks like the actual mech is somewhere down in boot or under seats

Can anyone confirm where it is as want to try and see if it's twisted or will feed back in. It's a 2009 i30

Thanks

Hopefully, she hasn't broken the return spring or something. Might be worth calling the Hyundai dealer and asking if they can explain how to access it. Also try searching on YouTube for videos. Any recent Hyundai hatchback or possibly Kia as well  should do assume they would all mount the seat belts similarly.

It should be in the boot. Over the rear fender.

To get full access to whole rear seatbelt system, manual says:

Remove:
A. Rear seat assembly
B. Rear door scuff trim
C. Rear filler trim.

I assume you only need to take C out, to access the mechanism, as you are not trying to replace the whole belt.

Thanks all. Managed to acess the mechanism by removing the trim round the wheel arch/door and the plastic bit the parcel shelf rests on. As soon as I started to undo the bolt that held the mech in place it wound back in so wondering if she had pulled so hard it twisted and jammed slightly but feeds in and out and stops if pulled hard
