Door Locking
Hi guys - I am having increasing problems getting my key in and out the lock on the door. I have a 2011 petrol 1.4 i30. Increasingly, it does not go fully in and has to be pushed before it enters fully and can turn in the lock, Is this serious, what could be causing it, has anyone else had this issue and what may need doing to fix it ? I was thinking that a spray of WD40 may fix it but haven't tried that yet. All assistance gratefully received ! Thanks  :victory:

I assumed the bulb had gone so replaced it (also changed 9 months ago) but it is not still turning on.  The interior map lights (if that's what they are called) are workingt the fine

Any ideas what it could be if no bulb or fuse?  Anything I could look at / open and tinker with?  Thanks

I have 2012 Trophy 2.0 litre petrol auto sedan with around 94,000 kms on the clock. I use standard unleaded octane fuel. Vehicle is fitted with cruise control (cc) and air conditioning (for hot Australian summers). The vehicle has been regularly serviced by myself (including new oil air filters and spark plugs) and has been returned to the hyundai dealer ship several times to receive software updates and satisfy recalls. Recently installed factory timing belt and pullies.

It's starting to annoy me now and I don't want to cause any ongoing issues, so for quiet some time, I've noticed that the vehicle seems to, well "hunt" is probably the best word to describe it.

For example, when driving down a freeway, ...

Just wondering if anyone here had fitted a tow yourself? If so can you tell me if it was pretty straight forward or it does require modifications on the chassis?

This is for a i30 - 2011 -CRD-i

Thank you

Air Con
Hi Guys,  The air con unit in my FD used to be really cold, and last summer it started to fade, so it only functioned a couple of minutes before it retained the inside cabin temp.
Thinking it just needed a regas, I recently took it to an air-con guy, who diagnosed it. It still had plenty of gas in it ( I saw the gauges and saw the high and low-pressure sides in the "acceptable limits" area on his gauges. He also confirmed that the gas was within limits on his gauges.

He did further testing, with the engine running, the electronic clutch was kicking in, etc on the compressor, the high-pressure side getting hot ( as normal) the low-pressure side was NOT cold.

He diagnosed it as a faulty compressor  :blubber: :blubbe...

The Battery on my Daughters 2012 FD i30 is dead.  I'm about to go and change it.  On some modern cars you have to register the battery with the car so that the alternator charges it correctly.  Do you have to do this with my daughters FD?

Last night I took delivery of a 2008, 1.6lt diesel with the 5 speed and 166,000km on the odo. When I sat in the car for the very first time and pushed the clutch pedal it fell to the floor and would not come back up. I pulled it up with my hand and it became firmly stuck in the up position. The car could be shifted through all the gears smoothly with the motor running. I pushed the car into a parking space and left it till today. It was still firmly stuck this morning. I had it towed to a shop and after it was lowered off the truck I gave the key to the attendant, explained the issue, and he got in the car and immediately drove it into the shop no problem at all! Then their technician drove it a few blocks with no issues, put it on t...

Key Fob
A few days ago i got a warning for low battery level on my Smart Key.
After replacing the battery of the smart key the buttons won’t work anymore. If i get nearby with the smart key the car still unlocks and can be started. I’ve noticed also that the light on top of the smart key lights up when pressing the buttons. Is there a special handling i need to do to reprogram the buttons?
