Door Mirror
Hi
I had to do this recently as I got the apparently not-uncommon problem where the gear breaks and the motor for folding the mirror in runs all the time. There are a couple of pictures in posts and some videos on YouTube but they tend to jump straight from removing the mirror from the door directly to the gear. It took me quite a bit of time to work out how to disassemble the mirror so I thought I'd put some notes in case they're useful for anyone else who has to do it. I’m afraid it’s been a couple of weeks since I did the repair so my memory of the details is fading, and in retrospect I could have taken much better pictures, but at least it should make it quicker for you than it was for me. Anyway...

Kangaroo start
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and new to having to fix my car. About 3 days ago on a highway drive, I was coasting down the on-ramp and when I began to accelerate, the engine hesitated, then started jumping. the revs remained low despite my foot being at least half-way planted, but intermittently it jumped up, as though it was bunny hopping. Now it's started doing it at start also, as though the idle is too low and it's threatening to conk out. If I drive it in manual mode, it's a bit better, but the hesitation is still there. In auto it can also struggle to change gear unless I absolutely floor it.
As some background, I've had the accelerator hesitation since it was quite new. I told Hyundai and they'd reset the ECU (I assume),...

Gearbox
Hi.
I have about 3000 miles on an I30 N-Line 1.4 petrol manual. Sometimes when I stop and then try to select reverse it feels reluctant to go in. I can force it and it will go in with a notchy feeling. If I go back to neutral and clutch out/in and try again it can be the same or perfectly smooth. And it can be perfectly smooth anyway. I make sure the clutch is fully down and pull the gearstick collar up fully. So I'm asking if this is a normal trait and is it something already known about. The forward gears are all fine. I got the car with 400 miles, it now has 3000 miles but i feel the issue is no worse or better in this time.

Sat Nav
Hi all,
I'm currently in Devon this week for a break, when I use the sat nav it's taking me down the single lane roads and they are literally one car width, you can't see anything around the bends. I've reverted to using Google maps as they use main A and B roads as much as possible, I've had both running at the same time and the Google map is much better to the point I ignore or turn off the Hyundai nav.
My question is where can you set what road types you want to use primarily? or am I just wishing?.
I've looked through but can't see settings related to using main roads as much as possible.
Many thanks if anyone knows.

Door Locking
Hi everyone,

I thought I would post this simple fix for the door lock actuator grinding noise in my 2011 FD i30. After reading through all the posts and YouTube videos I decided to pull it apart and see what the matter was. Also I was not buying a Hyundai part for $500 AUD.

Everything internally seemed fine which another user had also found. I connected the mechanism back and actuated it with my key. What I found was there was a lot of force driving the two parts of the housing apart. All the gears and mechanisms are housed in one half and the motors in the other. There are only plastic clips and locators that hold it together. When it is assembled I think the two halves of the housing move and grind the gears as the ...

Cruise Control
Hi guys. I'm having an issue with my cruise control. When engaged it keeps speeding up. For example when I set it to 100 kph it slightly accelerates to 105, 110 and so on. Even my cruise and set lights do not light up on my dashboard. I do have a little LED above my light adjuster switch on the left side of the dash (it's a LHD). This LED turns on green when the system is on and turn orange when a speed is set. It's really annoying I can't use the cruise control properly...

Fuse
Hey guys,
On my way to work this morning I lost low beam headlights, both at the same time!
I had to drive in the dark with my fog lights / high beams when suitable until I had a reasonable spot to pull over.
I can’t seem to find the headlight fuse in the book? 2012 (my13) petrol i30

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated

Clutch
Hello there. Posted on here before but a long time ago. Anyway I have a problem with my 2014 I30 1.6 CRDI clutch. It has been in and had a new clutch put in it but it still bites very close to the floor. The mechanic reckons the slave cylinder is also okay. It feels to me like there is too much movement at that pedal before it starts to put pressure into the system. Has anybody else had any sort of problem like this before?.

Many thanks in advance, Tony
Ps. I’ve got a few other problems with this car which I hope you can help me with  :D

Door Locking
Hi folks, I've read through a couple of posts covering the door lock actuator being broken (eg :link: i30 rear door will not unlock )
I have a similar problem on my i30cw diesel wagon 2011. I've gotten a replacement actuator mechanism from a wreckers, but because the door is stuck, I can't get anyone to replace it. It's on the front left door (passenger side).

The door snib does twitch when locking and unlocking electronically. I cannot manually fully open the snib. Pulling on the handle, there is tension (I can see the cable moving too) but it doesn't unlock the door too as it normally would since it's the front door.

Here's what I've ...
