Dyson, the engineering company best known for its vacuum cleaners and fans, plans to spend £2bn developing a "radical" electric car.

The battery-powered vehicle is due to be launched in 2020.

Dyson says 400 staff have been working on the secret project for the past two years at its headquarters in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

However, the car does not yet exist, with no prototype built, and a factory site is yet to be chosen.

I hope their car batteries are better than what they use on their battery powered vacuum cleaners, we’ve returned two of their stick vacuums in the last one and a half years :fum:

That fascinates me...

:wtf: have those 400 people been doing for two years..  :crazy1:

The whole thing is probably just a lot of hot air...

Bet the office is really clean.

I wouldn't be too worried it I was Tesla, the car will look crazy, do its job well but cost a small third world country.

That said I have an old school plug in Dyson Vacuum and it rocks.

If someone else did the cleaning I wouldn't have to use it at all :)
