It is still winter. I have noticed some condensation/water in my nearside (left side) headlight lens. I can't see same inside the offside (right side) headlight.

I understand condensation inside light units is fairly common and have experienced it myself on other older cars, but not one less than 3yrs old. I have been looking at other Kia/Hyundai headlights when out, and do not see any with condensation.

Is this a problem? I have a service coming up and may ask the dealer about it.

As you can change light bulbs, headlight units are not sealed, but are they vented?

Will the condensation vent away in warmer weather?

On my PD under the cover caps there is a silica gel bag that is there to helps reduce condensation. Admittedly I'm in Australia so weather conditions are vastly different. But if you don't have the silica gel bags in yours you could try putting some in and see how that goes

I had a look yesterday and could find no silica gel bag behind cap. Do you know if factory, dealer or owner fiited silica gel bags?
Also my vehicle is Czech built, so maybe different from Korean factory.
Any others have this problem?

Maybe only Korean factory fit the silica-gel bags or the Czech factory missed mine.

Any European (Czech built i30) owners able to comment?

Are the gel bags just pushed in behind the bulb access (screw) covers?
I guess they must be small.
I may take another look at mine.

Car went in for service and dealer asked to look at NS headlamp that was prone to condensation. Just my luck, no sign of condensation this morning, despite the cold.
Anyhow, dealer explained plastic headlights (as on PD) suffer more condensation issues when there is a inside/outside temperature difference and is normal. The headlights are not sealed so will vent and clear themselves.
I asked if silica-gel bags would help. Replied would not do any harm, but condensation should clear on its own.
Roll on Summer!  :)
