Had the engine management light come on so drove straight to the dealer.
They did a quick check with a fault code reader and mentioned a glow plug problem. Booked in for 3 weeks later (first appointment.
Diagnoseed overfilling with Ad Blue. No mention of glow plug. Told not to add Ad Blue until car told you to. Car was not using any noticeable amount and I had topped up as a check that gauge was working. No charge.
100 miles later, light on again so booked in 3 weeks later.
Again diagnosed overfilling Ad Blue. Charged £252 to strip down, empty and refill.
Also this time diagnosed glow plugs - replaced under warranty.
Technician explained that overfilling confused the system. Diagnostics showed 10litre tank capacity had 13 litres and 24% overfilled.
Checked handbook and Ad Blue Capacity is given as 18 litres!
So discrepancy between dealer diagnostic equipment and handbook on capacity.
Informed dealer and contacted Hyundai Customer Service about discrepancy. They could not tell me the capacity!
Clearly diagnostic equipment would show overfilling if it had wrong information about tank capacity!
